Is your cheek swollen?
A cheek swells when a dental infection has moved out of the tooth and into the tissue around it. Left alone it can spread, so it needs to be seen urgently.

What you can do now
- Cold compress on the cheek for pain and swelling. Do not apply heat.
- Do not press the swelling and do not try to burst it.
- If you are struggling to breathe or swallow, or the swelling is rising toward your eye or down toward your throat, call 112 immediately.
